Samee Ullah
Samee Ullah is an Artist from Pakistan. He is co-founder of the first self organized theater group of refugees in Germany and used art as a tool to fight against Racism. In his three years of career in Germany he initiated the idea of Canival of Refugees and organized an historical demonstration for refugee rights where seven big (state) theaters joined the demonstration on the International day against racism. In his diverse projects, he also works as TV Talk show moderator at Alex-Berlin.
Through his workshops with school kids and University students he tries to give better understandings of new arrivals, reasons to flee and life in host country. In the project „Speak out“ he is moderator of Film series. He’s the host of „Let’s Stay“.

Vanessa Macedo
Vanessa MacedoVanessa Macedo is a Documentary Filmmaker. She was born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey to a Colombian mother and a Brazilian father. She makes participatory video with communities in Berlin for social action and policy change. She listens to what is concerning communities and what they want to change allowing their voices to be heard and distributed through media platforms for local and national transformation. As a pacifist, she is interested in peacemaking through the use of expressive arts. In „Let’s Stay“ she is the Videographer and Co-Director of the series. She adds, “I am interested in working on this series because we need to built bridges not walls across communities.”

Irfan Aftab
Irfan AftabIrfan Aftab is a professional multimedia Journalist from Karachi, Pakistan. He is living in Berlin since six years and he contributes to Deutsche Welle TV. He has studied Intercultural Communication Studies at European University Viadrina, located at German polish border town Frankfurt Oder Germany. As a journalist, Irfan reported thought provoking stories of Refugees coming from sub-continent to Middle East towards Europe. He also accompanied the journey of Pakistani refugees from Hungarian-Serbian border till the capital of Germany.
In „Let’s Stay“, he will be supporting in various stages of production i.e. visual storytelling, concept building and post-production.

Thomas Klein
thomas-webseiteThomas Klein ist Film- und Medienwissenschaftler. Er ist im rheinland-pfälzischen Idar-Oberstein geboren. Seit etwas mehr als einem Jahr lebt er in Berlin. Er gehört also auch zu den Neuen. Nach vielen Jahren als Dozent an der Uni, in denen er sich u.a. mit Genres, Serien, transmedialem Erzählen und Dokumentarfilmen zu Nachhaltigkeitsthemen beschäftigt hat, widmet er sich jetzt mehr der Praxis und entwickelt mediale Konzepte für die Nachhaltigkeitskommunikation. Mit dem YouTube-Kanal „Let’s Stay – Geflüchtete erzählen von sich“ will er von Menschen erzählen, die zu uns gekommen sind, weil sie dort, wo sie hergekommen sind, nicht mehr leben konnten und weil das, was sie hier machen, beachtenswert und spannend ist. Thomas Klein ist Creator und Producer von „Let’s Stay“.

Lea Wortmann
Lea WortmannIch studiere „Global Change Management“ an der HNE in Eberswalde und bin gerade zu einem Forschungssmester im KMGNE. Meine Leidenschaft ist das Schreiben. Durch Praktika bei der Zeitschrift politische ökologie im oekom Verlag und bei dem Online-Magazin Klimaretter habe ich journalistische Erfahrungen zu Umweltthemen sammeln können. Ich schreibe gerne auch kleine Geschichten und habe 2015 eine einjährige Weiterbildung zur Anleiterin zum kreativen und therapeutischen Schreiben gemacht. Mit Geflüchteten habe ich vor allem seit letztem Jahr zu tun, als in meiner Straße eine Flüchtlingsunterkunft eröffnete und ich die Menschen dort durch ein mitinitiiertes Mal- und Bastelprojekt für Kinder kennenlernte. In „Let’s Stay“ fertige ich aus dem Dokumentationsmaterial Geschichten für die sozialen Medien.

Ich bin 19 Jahre jung und absolviere momentan einen Bundesfreiwilligendienst mit Flüchtlingsbezug in Eberswalde. Um der Zukunft gewappnet entgegenzutreten zu treten, mich also beruflich halbwegs zu orientieren, möchte ich möglichst viele Eindrücke sammeln und soviel wie möglich aus den unterschiedlichsten Bereichen mitnehmen! Ich lasse mich schnell für neue Dinge begeistern und bin bereit für neue Herausforderungen.
In „Let’s Stay“ dokumentiere ich die Prozesse und Ergebnisse, damit wir über die sozialen Netzwerke einen Vorgeschmack auf das Kommende geben können.
